Twitter Makes Its Mark on City Trading

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Communication is clearly the life blood of any trading organisation, you only have to ask anyone in the city to realise this. They need to have their finger on the pulse and their ear to the ground in order to get a lead or a jump on the market before everyone else. This information tends to come from a great deal of sources, including mediums such as press releases, business statements, cable news channels and many more. However, because the world of finance often moves faster than a speeding bullet, traders need to get the latest information from a wide variety of sources, and they need it now. The social media platform Twitter is now a tool that is being used by many traders to keep up with business knowledge according to the National Australia Bank (NAB).

Twitter has been termed a ‘micro-blogging’ entity, where people are limited to posts of 160 characters. This is something that traders really like about the site as it forces posts to be concise and avoid waffle. Users within a certain niche, such as the obstruction light sector, can follow other Twitter members who they want to receive updates from, and can themselves be followed. There is very little that is still local when it comes to city trading these days and often businesses and individuals need to stay connected to lots of other people around the world, who may be working in different time zone. Twitter provides a central platform for people within different niches or medias to communicate instantly and en masse, allowing them to remain up to speed with latest news and events.

There have been some groups that have frowned upon the use of Twitter as they say it has potential to be a portal for insider trading as messages can be sent privately. Although supporters such as this cable ties business are quick to point out that this was always possible via email and the real power comes from the ability to alert hundreds of thousands of people publically, which of course can be monitored for underhanded dealings if necessary

Make Money With Twitter

Friday, July 31st, 2009

So many people today are making use of Twitter, it’s like one of the best ways to keep in connection with friends and family all the time. By now, especially if you’re a member, you must have thought at least a few times, could I make money with Twitter?

Truly, you actually can. There are several methods to use that you will be able to make money on Twitter, even while doing your usual “tweeting”. Below are a few of the many ways:

Take a look at Make Money with Twitter to learn how YOU can start earning money NOW with Twitter and generate up to $4000 in 24 hours!

Twitter is like FaceBook and MySpace but in Twitter you can send text messages called Tweets and the maximum length of the message can be 140 characters sent to be in touch with your friends, family, and colleagues. If you have not yet used Twitter it is suggested that you go and use it.

Twitter can be used to make money through the advertisements which you can fire instead of the Tweet. For a sport, TV show, game, movie, or a game you might register an account in Twitter. Based on comparable area of interest people might add you to their Twitter messages and you can also transfer mass messages, when you distribute the advertisement through the Tweet and do mass marketing.

ou can have a job search website where people need to open an account by paying a little fees and you let them know of the jobs that are available through Tweets.

You can market the products and services using Tweets to transfer across the message in your advertisement to all your Twitter contacts.

Using Twitter you can start to advertise a product to your contacts and once you develop a target audience, you can put up for sale, using your own website. After selling the product the money can be transferred using PayPal, AlertPay, or Escrow.

As you can see Twitter can be used in more than one way to create cash, to start marketing your product, or to learn about other exclusive ways of making money on Twitter, and to enjoy using Twitter, have a read of Make Money on Twitter.

Why facebook is like a train station

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Many people over 25 get onto facebook after being pestered by younger family members. (I certainly was). At first, it can be very confusing.
Members of your family photographed on holiday and/or doing silly things with comments added by complete strangers – some of which can look very dodgy indeed.

So how can this apparent jumble of oddballs and misfits be any use what so ever to almost any business?

Well, the thing to remember is that oddballs and misfits are everywhere these days, walk down the road or to the train station and you will see variety of different shapes and sizes of people. Any marketer worth their salt wouldn’t view everyone of these as a prospect in the real world and neither should you on facebook.

The second thing to keep in mind is that facebook doesn’t come with a training manual or instructions guide. As with so many things these days, people are just expected to “get on with it” And without any sort of online training often just means copying what other people do. With regards to promoting a business on facebook, unfortunately, this generally means link dropping.

Someone starts a group based on an interest(It’s a little known secret that it is extremely hard to start an online forum) and invites their friends to join. Friends join, and because there isn’t a community already and because they don’t know what to say or have never been coached in how to start a conversation, they just say

“Hi, we are XYZ widget makers and if you ever need widgets, visit our website”

Then 1 of 2 things happens

The first likely thing is that no one will EVER click that link.

Why?

Most people hate being sold to. Plus they are never going to buy widgets (or any other service from someone they don’t know and have never met before)

The next likely thing is that anybody who does reply will just post.

“Hi, Top link”

That’s a bit like saying

“Hi, great hair” – but they can never say why…

But there is another way

It takes time and effort – sorry to say that you can’t get everything for free these days.

It’s called networking – actually finding out what help people need and helping them – for free. Ignoring the link droppers (sorry spammers) and looking to meet the sort of people that you would look for in real life. Yes you might need to spend a little time and “kiss a few frogs” along the way but your business will benefit in the long run.

You will meet lots of new contacts in different parts of the country (and world) who you never would if you had never made the effort.
