Reviews For Dishonest Wholesalers Clog Rip Off Report

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

I was looking around the web the other day and I came across the Rip Off Report which is a consumer site warning others of the pitfalls of conducting business with different companies.

As I’d been looking into different wholesalersuppliers, I decided I would just have a quick look and find out if there was anything there about them which might help me gauge whether they were a good company or not.

Obviously, because there are so many wholesale suppliers out there, lots of the ones that I looked up didn’t come up with anything, but I was really surprised to see the number of reports about one major company that is the source to a lot of eBay sellers.

What was most surprising was that I thought this was a legitimate drop ship company – or at least that was what all the information I had had said – but reading through this I found out that they were only a hub for the transactions to be conducted through. In traditional business models, this would be something that people are more likely to avoid. However, when it comes to online vending, this is actually something that is highly sought after.

Of course that’s not a bad thing that it’s an easy place to acquire lots of goods, but I didn’t realize just how high the markups were on the items that they were offering. I read that in some cases the markup is as high as 15% on the price, which when you are looking at the difference between wholesaling and retailing, really is the profit margin.

It just made me think twice about the best wholesale suppliers and I will certainly do more research to find out where I can get the best prices for the items that I will be selling.

Why Intermediaries And Middlemen Are Killing Retailers – And How To Get Rid of Them

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

I have been doing research into good wholesale distributors for a while now, and I’m continually surprised to hear how people are getting caught out with the simplest things. As entrepreneurs and business owners, it is important to remember to use your business acumen despite your sheer enthusiasm.

For years, one of the major problems has been businesses who claim to be wholesale suppliers but are actually just intermediaries jacking the price up and passing on a product.

What was most surprising for me was that I found out that some of the major players are in wholesale distributing are actually intermediaries. I was reading the other day about a lady who had been using one service for over a year and as her business grew she decided to look into other avenues to obtain goods.

She said she was really surprised to find out that the item she had been buying through this wholesale distributor was actually available much cheaper straight from the drop ship source.

Because of the monthly subscription fee she had paid to use this site, she had believed that the prices she was getting were the best available and was surprised to find out that they carried a 10-15% markup.

I realize that this is a situation that many people must be in, and it is literally killing their profits. So in order to avoid the middlemen trap, it’s important to track down awholesaler or drop shipper who is providing you with the best possible price for your item.

By going directly to a wholesale supplier, or liquidator, rather than third party broker, you will get maximum profit levels and see more business success. With one quick step, not only do your save a lot of effort, but you also maximize your profits and increase the profitability for your business.

Wholesale Items – The Easy Road To Success

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Have you ever wondered how the retail process works? How a product gets from the manufacturer onto the shelves of your favorite retailer? Make no bones about it, selling products is big business and you can cash in if you know the right places to go.

In general, the retailing process is a lean three step system. The manufacturer of the merchandise will sell bulk quantities to a wholesale source, who may deal with many different brands and merchandise from different areas. Because a wholesaler orders such large quantities of goods, a manufacturer will place a very low markup on the production price of that product.

Once a product is available at a wholesale distributor, a retailer will then come along and make a purchase of a certain number of items. In general, a retailer will purchase in bulk, although not in as large quantities as a wholesaler distributor. The wholesaler will cover their costs and allow for a small profit margin – this is known as the cost price of the product.

Now that the retailer has purchased the merchandise and knows the cost price, or unit price, that each products has cost, they in turn will separate their bulk purchase into individual items and sell them on to the consumer. The retailer is where the highest product markup occurs. It is not uncommon for a retailer to markup the wholesale cost price of a product as much as one hundred percent, although this is seen as a buyer’s premium to the customer who only wants to purchase one item.

If you want to cash in on retail profits, you should source a good wholesale supplier who will be able to provide you high quality merchandise to sell. It might seem very obvious to you, but you should realize that a lot of business – some of which will be your competitors – forget that the secret to success is customer satisfaction by way of great items at low prices.

Essential Reading: How To Find A Reliable Dropshipper

Friday, November 13th, 2009

If you already are in the business of vending goods on or offline, you may want to think about looking at drop ship companies as a way to expand your business. One of the greatest advantages of using a drop ship supplier is the savings you will make on product storage, as well as the time savings from not requiring to ship individual merchandise.

The hardest part of getting into this sort of business is sourcing a legitimate drop ship source. The traditional way of finding a drop ship supplier is to meet one through a local trade show or through a business directory listings. However, with the growing popularity of the internet, the ways in which you can find the wholesale drop ship supplier that you’re looking for has truly opened up.

The type of listings which you should avoid are the lists which are sold for a price through websites and eBay. The information is most often incorrect and you will actually be able to find more reliable information from free resources. While some of these lists and listings do contain real and valuable information, accurate lists are few and far between. In the end, you’ll probably end up wasting much of your valuable time.

One of the biggest challenges which you will be faced with is the lack of promotion that drop ship dealers do. As drop shipping is often a sideline from their primary business of wholesaling, many do not advertise that this service is available. You should try not to be disheartened by the lack of information available, as there are drop ship suppliers out there who would be happy to do business with you.

The best advice for finding a good drop ship distributor is to ask. A reputable wholesaler may well have this service available, and simply contacting them will reveal the nature of the service and any costs associated with it. If you already have a trusted wholesaler, they may be your best bet to become your trusted drop ship supplier.

Why Chinese Wholesalers May Not Be The Right Idea

Friday, November 13th, 2009

When you come across a Chinese wholesale website which shows nice photographs of branded merchandise at heavily discounted prices, it’s easy to see why you might think that you have just struck gold. Most of the time, the products that are being listed on these sites look like they’re of good enough quality to be sold on the western market, but priced low enough for you to make better profits than if you dealt with a domestic supplier.

The vast number of wholesale products listed on these websites can be very overwhelming, and they will offer everything from electronics, to exhaust headers and designer brand clothing.

It is true that many companies use China to make wholesale goods, but its also to remember that while high end products are made there, low end goods are also. Most companies manufacturing in China will have stringent rules and security in place to ensure that their goods do not end up being sold in local markets, as this would greatly devalue their brand.

In fact, the wholesale items that you will see for sale are often fakes, or cheap imitations, made with inferior quality materials. You may find yourself then paying a premium for a substandard product which is difficult to resell.

It is also important to note that when you plan to import wholesale items from China, you should be aware of customs regulations. You are only allowed to import a certain amount of items from any one supplier before you face import charges in line with taxation guides. It is advisable to use a Customs Broker to ensure your shipment arrives safely, and this can be a costly process.

Rather than source wholesale products from China, it is a good idea to do some research into what is available locally. You will often find that local wholesale sources can supply the same items at a similar cost, with much better quality and without the problems that dealing with Chinese suppliers can cause.
